A Symbol of Health and Longevity
Let's Get to Know Sage
Sage, also known as holy sage or European tea, is the largest genus of aromatic herbs in the Lamiaceae family.
Its white, felted leaves shimmer like silver and emit a bitter, fragrant scent.
Since sage is one of the oldest and most important medicinal herbs, all ancient medical writers mentioned it in their writings.
In ancient times, it was used to treat almost all diseases: lowering body temperature, relieving headaches, treating sore throats, mouth and respiratory tract pain, and relieving urinary tract and bladder infections. It was also used to treat inflammations of the intestines, stomach, liver, gallbladder and urinary tract, and many other diseases.
To understand the importance of sage during that period, we need to know that it was one of the few herbs that could successfully replace antibiotics. Until the discovery of penicillin in 1928, the use of sage as a medicine meant the difference between life and death.
The range of effects of sage is much broader than simply being a good natural antibiotic. Therefore, it is not surprising that ancient cultures valued sage as a sacred herb. Even in the Middle Ages, the benefits of sage were used to prolong life, ward off evil spirits, for use in ceremonies, and as a symbol of fertility, health, and longevity.

What are its benefits?
• The healing properties of Sage hydrosol from the Taurus Mountains are in the form of dissolved substances and small volatile oil molecules that have a strong effect on skin inflammation.

• It gently tightens the skin, reduces wrinkles, and gives the skin a youthful appearance. It stimulates skin microcirculation and accelerates regeneration.
• Sage hydrosol perfectly stimulates and cleanses the lymphatic system. Therefore, it is recommended to massage the lymph nodes with hydrosol, especially when we are ill. This is because lymph nodes accumulate various bacteria, viruses, and toxins, and sage hydrosol helps neutralize them.
• It is stated to have lipolytic activity, meaning it helps melt fat tissue and is powerful in combating cellulite.
• Sage has long been known as the best herb for treating oral ailments. In addition to its anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antibacterial effects mentioned above, sage has analgesic effects and is therefore quite effective against toothaches and sore throats.
• It also strongly affects the gums, reducing swelling, bleeding, pain, and mouth ulcers.
