CHASTEBERRY HYDROSOL

Women's Friendly

Let's Get to Know Chaste Tree

Chaste tree (Vitex agnus-castus) is a perennial medicinal plant species from the Verbenaceae family.

Vitex agnus castus L. is a deciduous tree that has been used for over 2500 years in ancient Greece, Persia, Egypt, and Rome for a wide variety of women's reproductive health problems.

Cultivated for its delicate, aromatic leaves and the pointed tips of its fragrant, lavender-like flowers, the Chaste Tree (Vitex agnus-castus) blooms from July to August.

Its beautiful blue-purple flowers turn into brown, round fruits in late summer.

The Chaste Tree is also known as the Chaste Tree, Monk's Pepper, Lilac Chaste Tree, and Abraham's Herb.

The Chaste Tree has an interesting culinary and medicinal profile. Its small herbaceous fruits are used as a substitute for pepper, and its leaves are used as a spice. The leaves, fresh stems, flowers, and ripening seeds are harvested for alternative medicine.

It has been used since the time of Hippocrates (430-377 BC) to help regulate menstrual cycles and "uterine inflammation."

It was also used to soothe headaches, colic, gas, and other digestive problems.

Vitex agnus-castus L. (Verbenaceae), the berry of the chaste tree, is one of the most popular and effective herbs used for the prevention and treatment of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and hyperprolactinemia due to its hormone-like effects.
